Higher education faces increasing challenges in a rapidly evolving technological and social landscape. This study examines the need for innovation in university teaching, considering the perspectives of faculty members and administrators at UNIANDES University. Using a multicriteria analysis method, key factors such as pedagogical relevance, technological feasibility, institutional alignment, sustainability, faculty acceptance, and administrative impact were assessed. The results highlight a consensus on the importance of innovation, though tensions arise between faculty autonomy and administrative standardization. The study concludes that continuous training and investment in technological infrastructure are essential to drive sustainable changes in higher education.
