Assessment and classification of self-harm risk using multicriteria analysis: A comprehensive approach in young and adult populations
Keywords:
Self-injurious behaviors, multicriteria analysis, risk assessment, preventive intervention, non-suicidal self-injury, young populationsAbstract
This study evaluated and classified the risk of self-injurious behaviors using a multicriteria analysis that integrated psychological, social, and biological variables. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative analyses on a sample of 150 subjects from young and adult populations. The results enabled the classification of risk into three levels (low, medium, and high), with a significant concentration in the medium-risk group. The model's predictive capacity was supported by sensitivity analyses and ROC curves (AUC = 0.82). The findings' implications for early identification and intervention in self-injurious behaviors are discussed, and recommendations are provided to enhance the evaluation process and develop an integral approach to this issue.
