The purpose of this research was to analyze how domestic violence affects the emotional and social well-being of merchants at the Santa Rosa Market, located in the Riobamba Canton. The study addressed the need to shed light on family conflicts present in this work environment, where both men and women reported having been victims of conflictive situations within the family unit. A quantitative methodology with a descriptive approach was applied, using surveys as the main tool for data collection. The study was conducted with a significant sample of merchants, which made it possible to identify not only the prevalence of family conflicts but also the strategies used to cope with them, such as dialogue and family mediation. The results showed that although the province of Chimborazo has relatively low rates of domestic violence compared to national figures, constant conflicts were evident in the Santa Rosa Market. A considerable portion of respondents reported having received assistance from the Judicial Units for Women and Family Violence, which acted effectively in most cases. It was concluded that dialogue is a key method for resolving conflicts and that psychosocial well-being is directly affected by the quality of family relationships. Therefore, it was recommended to strengthen violence prevention strategies through public policies that promote harmonious coexistence and respect for human rights in both family and workplace settings.
