Turning challenges into opportunities. Importing CNC machines for Fabrimuebles
Keywords:
Import, CNC machinery, competitiveness, customs regulationsAbstract
The main objective of this study is to analyze how the importation of CNC machines can transform the challenges of the national furniture industry into opportunities for growth and competitiveness, taking advantage of the absence of ad valorem taxes in Ecuador. The company Fabrimuebles is used as a reference. Through a CNC machine importation plan, it has gained access to new markets, diversified its products, and improved its competitiveness with innovative technologies. A mixed approach was used with a descriptive-explanatory, non-experimental design with non-probability sampling. Production processes and causes of operational problems were analyzed, justifying the incorporation of CNC machinery. The study combined documentary and field research to evaluate the impact of this technology. The results show that the importation of CNC machines allows furniture companies to overcome traditional limitations, increasing the precision, efficiency, and customization of their production processes. However, challenges were identified, such as the need for specialized training and adaptation to new work methodologies. The findings can be applied to other furniture factories, promoting modernization, sustainability, and competitiveness in the national furniture industry.
